I’m still here!

Well blogland, I’m still here! 🙂 I may not be a Stampin’ UP! demonstrator at this time, but I’m still around and creating. In fact, I’ve had a bit more time to craft lately, so there’s some new stuff in my Etsy shoppe (and more to come ASAP). I’m still working on some tutorials and such, so don’t give up on me yet! Have a great week! -TM

Saying Goodbye…

Just a quick, sad, note. I am saying goodbye to Stampin’ UP! as of October 31. Our family is once again moving (to a different town this time) and I need to simplify things around the house these next few months. I’ve loved every minute of being a Demonstrator and I hope to come back to SU! stronger and better than ever very soon. 🙂

Please let me know ASAP if you need anything (be sure to check out the FABULOUS Holiday Mini on my website!).

Thank you for your support. I hope to keep updating the blog with tutorials, projects and the like in the meantime.

Much love,
Tammy

Hope You Can Cling To

TGIF!! *Today is the LAST DAY of my FREE shipping promotion!! Place your order by midnight CST tonight (either on my website or through me) to receive free shipping!*

I’m participating in a very worthy challenge over at Splitcoaststampers.com – the Hope You Can Cling To challenge! We’re gathering cards to send to breast cancer patients at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.

I will always have a very special place in my heart for MD Anderson. Several years ago my mom underwent surgery there to remove several cancerous organs. She has MS, so this was a very risky proceedure. The doctors and staff took wonderful care of her and she has been CANCER FREE ever since. I thank God when I think of MD Anderson and I’m so thankful for this chance to help other patients there!

One challenge was to make a pink holiday card (any holiday except Valentine’s). I created this pink Christmas card with some retired SU! products and the watercoloring technique I showed you several days ago.

*Sorry for the awful lighting but I finished this up after dark so I had to work with the overhead lights. Ick!

Just wanted to share this to showcase the amazing challenge going on and that holidays don’t have to be in the traditional colors to be fun. 🙂

Have a fabulous Friday!

I decided to make “candy wands” for each girl to A.) eat and enjoy and B.) give them a sugar-high all their parents would appreciate. 😉 Honestly, I ran out of time to order from this fabulous Etsy seller (who I can’t seem to find the name of… if you know who I’m talking about please let me know!) so I made my own. *this post is gonna circle back to Stampin’ UP! – hang in there* Behold:

I’m so excited to share these with you because the FAB ribbon I used to tie the bags is SU! Real Red 3/4″ Polka-Dot Grosgrain Ribbon – a retired product NOW AVAILABLE in the Clearance Rack on my website!

Texas Two-Steppin’

**I have FREE shipping and FREE tote specials going on now! Scroll down for more details!**

I have a SUPER SIMPLE little watercoloring project to show you today and it includes only TWO steps. Seriously, you can’t color any easier than this!

Materials: Stamp (Because I Care, earn this FREE as a hostess), Watercolor paper, Stampin’ UP! Classic Ink Pads (Old Olive, Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie), Aqua Painter, scissors, Dimensionals, needle and thread, Early Espresso cardstock and ribbon.

*Before starting this project, with your Stampin’ UP! ink pads closed, gently press the top down toward the ink pad inside. This will transfer some ink to the lid – this is what you’ll use for the next steps.

1. Stamp your desired image in solvent ink (such as StazOn). Do not use Stampin’ UP! ink or any other water-based ink for this step as it will run once we start watercoloring.

2. Painting Step 1: Fill your Aqua Painter with water according to the package directions. Place the tip of your Aqua Painter in the lid of your ink pad so it soaks up some ink.

3. Painting Step 2: Press the Aqua Painter bristles to the watercolor paper to transfer the ink. The color will be strongest right after you pick it up, and will fade as more water and less ink is put down. There’s NO wrong way to do this, so play around with it! 🙂

*When you’re ready to change colors simply wipe your Aqua Painter bristles onto the watercolor paper until it runs clear.

4. Continue putting down ink colors until you’re satisfied with the image.

Tada, totally colored and it took about 15 minutes (which included finding my Pumpkin Pie ink pad in a box in the garage!) TWO steps – YOU can do this! 🙂

I cut out the flower, added it to a hand-cut tag of Early Espresso cardstock, stamped the included sentiment from the stamp set, hand-cut and added a few stitches. Retired So Saffron ribbon finished it off:

Want to see this technique in action?? Host a workshop with me and we will create a similar item with your guests and you can earn this stamp set FREE! Contact me today! 🙂

Where’d I go this time?!

I had the best intentions of spending “World Card-Making Day” (yesterday) here on my blog with lots of ideas and examples, but “Man Plans, God Laughs”! 🙂

Our daughter turned 11 on Friday and this weekend was FULL of activities and planning for her birthday party today. I did get a BIT of a card done yesterday, so hopefully I’ll have that uploaded soon.

What did you do this weekend? Any stamping or scrapping? Have a great week! -TM

Howdy!

I'm Tammy Moore, a scrapbooking fanatic in Austin, TX. Thanks for stopping by my little space on the web. Feel free to contact me any time!

Why “Mama Bear Stamps”?

A few years ago my daughter and husband gave me the nickname "Mama Bear" and I've used it ever since! This year I even conqured my fear of needles and had the Chinese symbols of mother and bear tattooed above my right ankle. When I started this blog, I knew I wanted to go by my nickname: Mama Bear. But you can call me Tammy if you'd like. :)
