Love Sparkles Layout and Card

Here are the Love Sparkles projects I created (more to come):

*Sorry for the wonky photo – I didn’t have time/was too lazy to scan it in. 😉

All products used were directly from the Simply Scrappin’ kit. The three dots at the top were simply hole-punched with a standard office hole punch from one of the Chocolate Chip stickers included.

I also created a card with the Whisper White cardstock from the kit:

I used our Beautiful Wings Embosslits from the Holiday Mini (it’s still available!) and my new Perfect Details Texturz Plate Die for use in the Big Shot. I stamped the saying from Very Thankful (proceeds go to the Ronald McDonald Charities!) in So Saffron. Super quick and easy! I think this would be lovely as a wedding or shower thank you as well.

Have a great weekend! 🙂

Pink, Yellow, White & Chocolate

I love this color scheme and I’m seeing it more and more around the web. I recently picked up this Simply Scrappin’ kit from Stampin’ UP!, Love Sparkles:

Love Sparkles Simply Scrappin' - by Stampin' Up!

This set includes 8 sheets of 12″ x 12″ textured card stock
6 sheets of 12″ x 12″ patterned paper
6 sheets of 6″ x 12″ self-adhesive die-cuts (2 each of 3 designs)

Here is some of my favorite inspiration from the internet in this scheme:

*Sorry, my computer crashed after I saved the image, but didn’t get a chance to save the sources.

I’d love to see your inspiration with these colors, and I’ll upload a few samples with that set soon. Have a great day! 🙂

An idea to ponder

**Don’t forget! This Saturday I’m hosting a craft supply yard sale from 8-1 and a Spring Fun workshop from 3-5! The sangria’s already on my list of groceries… HINT HINT! Hoping I can bribe you with booze, lol! 😉 **

I was blog-surfing the other day and came across a fabulous quote in passing. I’m afraid I can’t remember which blog it was on, but it was a business blog.

“Spend your money as if you were voting.”

So concise, so clear, and so right-on-point. Too often we buy things “just because”.

It was cheap.

It was fast.

It was there.

But what if we went out of our way a bit more each day. What if we spent our money on things that tasted better, felt better against our skin, took care of our bodies better, and with businesses and people we trusted and cared about?

Now I’m not one of those people who only buys from small businesses, hates the big-box stores and only eats organic. However, I firmly believe in supporting the businesses and employees I care about. I do try to buy handmade whenever possible (I need to work on that), and try not to give into instant gratification when something I want is available at a valued business but I find it at a place I wouldn’t usually give my money right now (I really need to work on that).

As an independent business woman I can firmly say that I want to be that person/business that is valued. I want my customers to become friends as I’ve become friends with so many people at the businesses I frequent. Where we spend our money is usually the place we spend the most of our time. More importantly, I want to put something out there that makes people feel better about themselves, their abilities and their memories.

And I want to spend my money like I’m voting.

Perfectly Me

I found an amazing website today: Sunny Mummy. She posted a “Perfectly Me” blog post and I thought I’d do the same! 🙂 Enjoy!

10 things that are Perfectly Me:

1. I’m not a perfectionist. Not in any way. I like to do my best, but if it’s not perfect that’s fine with me. Nobody’s perfect anyway!

2. I have always had the ability to shrug off other’s opinions of me. Peer pressure never really got to me, even as a kid. I was always fine doing my own thing, in my own way. I’m very thankful for that now, as an adult.

3. I stand up for people, and I’m a “helper”. I really believe one of God’s purposes in my life is to help others as much as I can. It’s not always easy, but I try.

4. I love to sleep. It’s a hobby really. A nice cool bed and a big fluffy quilt and I’m set.

5. I don’t wish for a million dollars, or even more hours in a day. I just wish for more energy. I wish that when I got home from work I wasn’t exhausted. I wish I could push all-out until I fall down into bed.

6. I love coffee. Not just to help me with energy (see item 4), but any time, any way. Usually black. Coffee and a good book – that’s all I need.

7. I have NO memory. Zilch. Even if you tell me your name a hundred times I may still forget it. That doesn’t mean I don’t care about you – I always remember a face – I just can’t remember facts, figures, etc.

8. What was I saying??

9. I can’t watch anything scary, gory, or disturbing. I can’t watch medical dramas even. However, I often-times enjoy the storylines of these movies/shows and will hound my husband to tell me what happened – just without the visual aspects. He gets annoyed by that sometimes but always fills me in. 🙂

10. If I could only save one thing during a house fire and my family was safe I’d save my scrapbooks. I don’t know how I’d carry them all out in one trip, but by gosh I’d try!! The first to be scooped up would be my daughter’s baby albums. After that I’d be ok. Heartbroken, but ok. Oh, and anything with photos of my grandparents. I tell my family that if I die and none of my descendants want my scrapbooks to bury them with me! 😉

Well, those are 10 things that are Perfectly Me. I wouldn’t trade my family or these things for any amount of money in the world.

I am not Bakerella

I adore Bakerella. I mean, seriously, LOVE her work. However, I am most definately NOT Bakerella. Case in point, my Easter “cookie pops”. 🙂 These were Oreo Cakesters, covered with white chocolate bark and gel icing.

Go ahead, laugh. You won’t hurt my feelings. 🙂 Just thought I’d share a crafting mishap for your viewing enjoyment. LOL

Watercolor Wonder

Well, our family made it through the Easter weekend intact. 🙂 Every year we take our daughter to LTC (Leadership Training for Christ) – a competition of sorts in Dallas. My husband and I both competed there growing up and now we’re proud to pass on the tradition. Andrea competed in Chorus and individually in Signing and Interpreting for the Deaf.

Needless to say, we’re a bit beat! Today’s post will come via Stampin’ UP! and a fantastic demonstration of our Watercolor Wonder Crayons. If you love these as much as I do, click the “Shop 24/7” link to the right and view them in the store!

Have a great week! ~T~

Howdy!

I'm Tammy Moore, a scrapbooking fanatic in Austin, TX. Thanks for stopping by my little space on the web. Feel free to contact me any time!

Why “Mama Bear Stamps”?

A few years ago my daughter and husband gave me the nickname "Mama Bear" and I've used it ever since! This year I even conqured my fear of needles and had the Chinese symbols of mother and bear tattooed above my right ankle. When I started this blog, I knew I wanted to go by my nickname: Mama Bear. But you can call me Tammy if you'd like. :)
